| Traversed the Williams Mountains which includes 5 ranked 13ers. Definately one of the more interesting areas of the Sawatch. Traverse involved plenty of 3rd & 4th class scrambling. Routefinding was essential. Long day! | |

| What can I say, this day was one of the best I have ever spent in the mountains. From trailhead to trailhead, we didn’t see another human soul. The autumn alpine environment was something very special. It was so subdued, so quiet. It was also strangely homey feeling as this is a special area for me. We saw a couple of coyotes as we hiked up toward the Mountain. The hourglass couloir was quite loose. The climb and routefinding up the ridge was lots of fun. The crux move was even more fun. Gaining the summit of this somewhat obscure mountain was a nice accomplishment. I even had a little fun flinging snowballs off the summit in into the void below. On the hike back down we took our time enjoying the perfect and unique day in the mountains. | |

| Excellent Sawatch Peak with a great view of the Hunter Fryingpan Wilderness. There are many more summits to attain in this area and will go bac in 2005. | |

| A good day up there with Kane. The most unavoidable exposure I've experienced on a Sawatch peak. A lot of loose stuff on the left side of the gully heading up to the ridge. Lots of ptarmigans in the basin below. | |
