farrisglExcellent Side Trip off the JMT  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2008

Thought about doing this peak on our 2004 JMT trek but once reaching the pass we still planned to reach Tuolumne Meadows from our day at Thousand Island Lake (20 Mile day)so we passed. This year we shortened the day to allow us to climb the peak. Sure glad we did. Really great view.

derbillyRitter overview  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 2, 2006

This peak was intended as a warmup and overview for the days to come during a 9-day backpack trip in Ansel Adams. I made my way to Donohue Pass from Rush Creek and ascended the SW ridge, hanging with some marmots along the way. I decided to take a more direct route down the S face in some chutes that were interesting and sometimes hairy class3-4.

A beautiful day for a short dayhike from the Pass. Views were spectacular and the scrambling was interesting. A wonderful short side trip.
