| The scrambling up the wash was surprisingly fun. But navigating through the huge talus to the summit was time-consuming and quite frustrating. I could see the summit a couple of hundred yards away to the east/northeast, and it seemed to take forever to actually weave my way through the maze of rocks to get there! Some surprisingly challenging scrambling required to negotiate the talus and slabs, up to class 3-4 in one or two places.
Found the usual class 2 route on the way down--much easier and quicker.
