| Having lived in Jefferson County for 10 years it was time to climb its high point. The whole route involved bushwhacking and lots of deadfall. My legs were sore afterwards from stepping up and over the trees continuously while making my way up the steady incline. Today 11/8/08, I completed both summits by climbing "the Wigwam". The summit is a nice aerie in which to view all the summits south toward Pikes Peak including the high point of Douglas County, Thunder Butte. | |

| Fantastic and long hike (15 miles & 4000 ft). The trail for the first 5 miles to the 10,600 ft saddle was easy going. It was the last 2.5 miles and 1000 ft that made it interesting. Over all a great hike with amazing views from the top. I was tempted to head over to Windy for an even longer hike but decided to save it for another day. | |

| Boy am I tired! Nice hike, but one of the most difficult I have done. Hiked up Wigman Trail to Rolling Creek Trail, which by the way isn't the most obvious trail, and then headed east along the ridge to Buffalo's summit. Beautiful views, but rather sobering when you look out upon Hayman fire burn area to the southeast. From the summit I headed down to the saddle between Buffalo and Wigmam but decided to save Wigmam for another day. Four hours 25 minutes to the summit, and 7 hours total round trip. I was the first to sign the register this year. | |

| Hiked them both separately. West route descent off of Wigwam is one of the coolest things I've ever done - like glissading in 1-2' deep decomposed granite. Awesome! | |

| Not a long hike, but different. In the trees all day, with lots of fallen trees. Easy to get lost on descent unless you keep the big ridge on the opposite side of Stoney Pass in front of you. Summit view is quite good in all directions. Climbed with Ron, Chris. | |

| Buffalo is a challenging winter hike. The mountain is prominent and the views are really nice in the winter. The views of the Hayman Fire destruction are very sobering. Be prepared for trees. | |

| Climbed this peak from the Stoney Pass Trailhead. A difficult peak to attain, not due to length or grade, but due to the dead and fallen trees that cover the traverse. We were probably only out of the trees for 30 minutes of an all day hike. Make sure you bring your map, compass, and GPS, or this could turn into a longer day than necessary. | |

| We climbed the direct route from Stoney Pass. There's some nice outcrops along the way, but it's nowhere near as impressive as the south slopes that Kane describes. Bring a map and compass for this one! | |
