My brother and I spent a good portion of a day climbing around the area and having a blast. This is an awesome area with tons of variety, and some great photo opportunities!

plumecan't stop myself from going here  Sucess!

I just wish the camping was free and the rangers wouldn't hassle you. Other than that, it's a fine place to drink a beer and pull on some monzo.

Date Climbed: May 10, 2008

Finally found a reason to climb at A-Hills - TINA! We had a great day on a few routes with many laughs and lots of exfoliation. It was pretty warm on Rotten Bananas (5.7) but comfy on Pistacho Wall. Nice place.

What a great little day-trip to the A-Hills with Dave Daly. Great climbing, better weather, and even better fun doing bad Bear Grylls impersonations, drinking Fat Tire Ale and climbing some great routes!

Out for a day of fun up in The Loaf area with Blair. Fun times on 'Ankles Away', 'Leonosphere', 'Escargot', 'Mon Cherie', and 'Ranger Ron'. Shark Fin Arete was a big disappointment.....worst route of the day.

piotrowskiRe: Wonderful Wkend of Leading & TR'ing

I'd have to second the compliments to Tim Standing. What an outstanding place to play!

I had the "what am I doing here?" attitude on the first day, but by the second, I was starting to feel like I could do this stuff again.

Those who know me well know I'll rarely take the lead with a female around. Thanks Tina. I'll follow you anywhere (almost).

Date Climbed: Apr 1, 2007

It was nice to get on some rock after a year long lazy spell. Spent the day with Miguel Forjan and Mike Sash. TR'd a couple of routes at Paul's Paradise. Tried the Sharks's Fin but burned out part way up....need to get back in shape soon.

awagherDay of Personal Firsts  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 21, 2006

Great day out with Rick. Personal firsts for me - leading Rotten Bananas 5.7 and Bananarama 5.8 on the Tall Wall. Climbing Mon Cherie 5.9 on the Truffle Tower. Following my first 5.10a on Pangborn. Climbed the Slab Route 5.10d (TR of course - but did not fall ;)). Wrapping up the day taking 4 consecutive lead falls (exciting firsts for me) while on the Poodle Wall routes. Thanks Rick for the encouragement, support and advice. Great day out (still kinda high from the whole thing, and swollen and bruised but it feels great).

forjanShark's Fin, Leaning Tower of Pizza, etc.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 7, 2006

Met up with Dave Van Selow and awagher. Climbed the Shark's Fin and the 5.6 (or 5.8) route to the left of it. Drove to the Leaning Tower of Pizza and climbed Deep Dish and Paranozoti. Finished off the day on Paul's Paradise. Fun day at Alabama Hills while the High Sierra was getting a dusting of snow.

Route Climbed: Paul's Paradise
Date Climbed: June 11, 2005

On our way to the Horton Lakes trailhead to climb Basin Mountain the next day, Al Kwok, awagher and I stopped here a few hours to climb at Paul's Paradise. We did De Ham Bone, Frank, Frederick and Ted Shred. I found the climbing to be easier than the given guidebook ratings.

First time climbing at AH. Climbed Nut 'n' Honey (5.7), The Burnt Penis (5.7), and The Shark's Fin Arete (5.7). Good, restful time after a brutal dayhike in the high country with Rick K the day before.

Messed around Shark's FIn before heading to Whitney's East Face. Fun place, well worth the trip even if you don't head into the Eastern Sierra.
