Date Climbed: Jul 27, 2009

Came from camp on Taboose Pass on the final day of a 4 day 4 peak trip. Climbed the county line ridge. There was a short section where you traverse some loose rock but other than that an easy climb. Awesome views from the top. Descended via a scree chute back to the pass.

Final peak of a four-peak weekend including Wynne, Goodale and Striped -- best views of the bunch by far. Fun scree ski down the chute.

Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2008

Day 1 of a tough weekend with Taboose Pass and Cardinal Mtn on Day 1 and Arrow Pk and exit on Day 2. Standard approach straight up from the lakes below the pass. Tried to keep it in the Cl 2/3 rocks as the scree was terrible (but ok for descent) Great views and perfect day -- looks like people use the mtn as a ski peak in the winter. Arrow Pk is a long ways away... Pictures

Taboose Pass was not as bad as I thought from reading earlier reports. Made it to the summit in about 5h. Great views! Then climbed Goodale as well. Thanks, Tom, for waiting with cold beer at the TH.

Date Climbed: Aug 8, 2007

Somehow, Ryan and I managed to climb halfway up the wrong peak before realizing we weren't on Cardinal. Doh! Recovered from our errant ways, summiting Cardinal and then Goodale for good measure. Trip Report

Date Climbed: Aug 8, 2007

The county line route is almost entirely class 1 and the hike up to Taboose Pass was easier than expected making for an enjoyable day. Descended the loose chute on the south side. On the way up we spotted a bear heading down to the trailhead for snacks. Excellent views.

Dayhike from Taboose pass. Much less of a slog than anticipated.

Date Climbed: May 6, 2007

With Steve and Charles, camped in a dry patch below lake 11,840 ft+. The south chute had frozen snow, so it was up the slope left of it. Beautiful day after a cold windy night! Pictures here.

Sleeping at 11,500 at Taboose was great. Going at a blistering fast pace because your leaders are ultra marathoners... not so great. Heehee. It was fun, I was sore for 3 days afterwards.. Loved it!

A long training hike/talus slog rewarded with tremendous views of this part of the range. Overnighted near the pass with a full moon.

Dayhiked up from below Red Lake Trailhead on snowshoes the entire way. Fantastic views on both sides of ridge. One of my favorites.

I skipped Norman Clyde Peak during the '03 Sierra Challenge (I judged it likely to be too spicy for me at the time), so I substituted this one instead. Dayhike out of Taboose Pass TH (followed by a dayhike of Mt. Tyndall the next day for good measure). Not a particularly good climb, but it had some nice views.

thebeave7Route Climbed: East Ridge from Taboose Pass TH Date Climbed: 4/18/05  Sucess!

A spectacular but trying climb up the direct East ridge from the Taboose Pass Trail. Lots of sage brush, lots of sand, and even more snow. But what a wonderful summit day. Trip Report here
