| Although much of the route probably would be passable in a powerful, high-clearance 4WD vehicle, my wimpy Mazda truck wouldn't make one of the hills in War Canyon, so I had to walk the rest of the way (probably ~23 miles, round-trip). The summit register is in a small Gatorade bottle, though the book is pretty faded and I couldn't read any of the entries. A very long day, but very rewarding! | ||

| Climbed while deer hunting with a friend back in the day (yes we were successful). Snuck up on some feral horses just south of the summit, maybe within 20ft. Sadly, evidence of their destructive lifestyle was widespread around the high country above Cherry Creek. Camped in the old stone cabin during a mild storm, and then went down to Cold Springs for pizza. Love this part of Nevada! | |

| With a dozen from the Bay Chapter, Sierra Club. A wilderness exploratory to check on the BLM boundary determinations. Wanted this peak for along time; Vicki gave me a chance. We also climbed Mt. Grant (8,847', also Healy Peak?) the next day. Placed registers on both peaks. Anybody know if they are still there? | |
