| Climbed from 4WD road just west of Winfield. Horrible winter-like weather fully tested our character. Ervin's west ridge and Blaurock's SE ridge were trickier than expected with snow. My first climb with the famous Ken Nolan. | |

| Loop climb; Ervin via Grey Cooper to Blaurock to PT 13686 and down the south ridge to the LaPlata South trail. Some fun exposure on Ervin's surpisingly rugged ridge, even a little class 3 scrambling tossed in. Nice morning but it clouded up early and started to snow a little on descent. Very minimal winter snow remains on the ridge, and no snow gear is required, not even gaitors. | |

| Mount Blaurock makes for a really nice early season climb. There really is no standard route, you kind of pick a steep ridge and go with it. The views are great and with good weather the ridge run to UN13,686 is really worth it. | |
