| Started out from Indian Wells Canyon to attempt Eternal Vigilance, 5.9 from Greg Vernon's Domelands book, but backed off after the first pitch. We brought too much gear and quickly realized that the subsequent pitches would be immensely difficult hauling two full packs. Our excuse - it was damn cold and windy all day! We scrambled up to the fun class 3/4 ridge and topped out in a few hours in near whiteout conditions at the summit. Plus, throw in petroglyph sightings and it was a great day! |
