This really is a fun peak and can be done from several aspects. Smoky day (of course) but could still see the Pioneers and Castle Peak. Like Splattski said, lots of hunters about "scouting" from four wheelers. And watching hikers on the summit.

Fairfield until I was 17. We were the outcasts that enjoyed climbing and riding our 10 speeds places they weren't meant to go. I love this mountain. The area is coming around as far as trails and access goes. I would love to live back in Fairfield, but as they say, "Great place to live if you can make money there!"

not much snow at all yet on the south slopes. Climbed in conjunction with 2nd and 3rd peaks. Really nice weather for November

Skinned up and had a wonderfully long run back down through nice fluffy powder.

Gord and I wandered up the south side from a ways out- we couldn't get the ol' 2 wheel pickup up one hill, and would rather walk than chain up. Snowshoes up high, solid snow down low.
Beautiful, sunny day. Lots of hunters driving around, asking if we'd seen any elk... Well, ya gotta get outta yer cars...

The first 10,000-foot peak I ascended and one of my favorite mountains to look at.
