| After summiting Peak 10 by it's East Ridge route, rather than descending by the road to the large meadow between the peaks, I scrambled down 10' North ridge until I found the prominant snowfield along the Northeast Face (conditions of this are visible from Breckenridge). A steep glissade and I dropped 500 feet, before reaching the boulders at the snowfield's base. Then I traversed back toward the sadlle and easily ascended Peak 9. The descent was to the Southeast, intersecting the excellent Wheeler Trail. It would be easy to continue north from Peak 9 to Peak 8 for those desiring amother summit. |
