| Hiked up to Lake 8700 in Sawmill Gulch, then north up to the west ridge to the summit. Came down the direct south slope scree field in quick time. Ammo box at the top. Great views as the never-ending climbing season of 2008 continues into Dec! Ptly Cloudy and 30F. We needed snowshoes near Lake 8700 in the valley, but not on any of the slopes. | |

| I concur that this was more of a workout than anything else- probably the easiest and fastest Sawtooth Summit with great views- Sean Duffy | |

| More of a good workout then a fine climb. But beautiful views as always and a good half day in the mountains! Oh yeah. Found another frickin MONSTER tick on me afterward. Same area as before...I'm stearing clear of Smiley Creek for a while. | |
