SarahThompson4 Peak Loop  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 13, 2008

Climbed with chicagotransplant. Another great day in the Sangres! The road to Medano Pass from the east is steep but fairly easy except for one very rocky section. The water hole on the spur road to Medano Lake TH (described on this page) was indeed very deep - deeper than it looked. Be careful!

Date Climbed: Jul 13, 2008

Climbed with Sarah, Dominic and Pete as part of a 4 peak loop. Started at the Medano Lake TH, then went up a side drainage to PT 12883, over "Medano Peak", then Herard and finished by going over PT 12925 and descending back to the trail about 20 yards from one of the creek crossings.

Erin and I climbed Medano Peak, Mount Herard, and UN 12,925 in a nice loop via Medano Creek. Highly recommended if you don't mind a bushwhack off of 12,925!

Great day for a hike. Nice approach to the lake with some of the larger Aspens I have seen along the way. Great views of the Dunes, Blanca area and the Crestone Group.
