I'd been wanting to do this peak for some time. This hike has great views once you start to get above the treeline. Climbed with Jay and Tom. From the summit you could see Mt Diablo. It's remote, but the views make this a worthwhile objective. I will do this one again!

Not much snow left at all. Ran into a large bear on the way down.

Nice hike, nice forests and meadows. Snow was the right consistancy from the time I left the trail up to the west ridge.

Easy dayhike. Nice views only from the summit. Lots of mosquitos made it impossible to stop and admire the spectacular wildflowers.

Arduous? It was only a bit over 12hrs, and I would think that's pretty mild on Matthew's list of hard days. Perhaps because it was all on snowshoes made it seem harder. It was certainly a very beautiful outing in a snowy landscape, and despite getting lost off track by a few miles on the way back, great fun. Trip Report

Dayhike out of Silver Lake with Bob. A fairly long, arduous outing, but the peak has some pretty fine views that probably made it worthwhile. Didn't find a register under all the snow up there. A stiff wind kept the snow well consolidated for most of the day, and we only used snowshoes for the last couple of hours on the return.

I was finally able to climb this peak after being turned back last year by wildfire. It was a relatively long and boring approach, but the views were great. Pretty fun peak.
