| Joined by my inexperienced friend from high school, I took ropes and gear to help teach him the basics. This is a great route with an amazing atmosphere that I'm sure I'll visit again. | |

| Hiked from Tramway Trail to La Luz trail to Sandia Crest. Then hiked North Crest Trail to peak. Returned to tram for a ride to my car; well worth the $8 fee. | |

| Some of the best views in the Sandias and fewer people. Approached from the north as a bushwhack, then returned to the parking area via lesser used spur trails. | |

| A moderate hike in the late morning that challenged our ability to find faint trails and navigate through the brush. Gorgeous views of the Needle, Shield, Sandia Crest, and the Rio Grande valley. | |
