Followed Roach's standard North Ridge route on the ascent. It was so windy on the summit that we couldn't even stop for a break to celebrate Mike's 100th 13er. Descended the west/northwest ridge since it had looked dry and easy from the trailhead. We ended up having to traverse some snow slopes up high on the corniced ridge and were then treated to very loose, steep talus and crotch deep postholing below treeline. I definately don't recommend this route.
Climbed with Sarah and Dominic. Wind and some sketchy cornices kept us from repeating Sunshine, but this turned out to be a interesting day as we went down a different ridge and found some spicy sections. I wouldn't recommend our descent route though, too loose! This one was my 100th ranked 13er.
Summited at 9.36, en route to Sunshine. Impressive-looking peak, even though by & large just a talus slog (albeit steep- don't slip on the crappy rock!). Summit ridge scenic & enjoyable. Columbines growing there at over 13,000'!
