| Originally I just intended to go to Gardisky Lake on this day. Then since I was there so early at the lake I said, "Why not?" and just went to the top. For a short one this really had good views of lakes I fished as a kid. | ||

| Drove from San Jose to Tioga Pass - left at 2a, arrived ~6a, slept in my car outside the park entrance until first light. Looked up at Dana (first choice for that day) - too much snow & rime ice from a small storm several days prior. Looked south to Mammoth Pk. (second choice for that day), decided against that also. Decided for an easy day, so went up to Tioga Pk. I was back to my car in just a few hours. I had breakfast at the Whoa Nellie and then drove home. Saw dozens of entries in the log from Ellingson (Ellerson?) - one of the Yosemite rangers. Tioga pass road was closed a few days after I was there. | ||

| On a day of remembrance, this was a nice spot for a quiet moment. Gardisky is one of my favorite EZ to get to lakes - and the peak was a nice reason to return. | ||

| Tagged Tioga Peak after climbing Mt. Dana and wimping out on Mt. Gibbs. This was a pretty fun and easy peak. Nice views. | |
