Took my daughter, Paige, on her 4 ascent on a Cali mtn....along the way broke a tooth and got stuck in the eye socket by a branch. Never got the rain that threatened. Nice steep hike and beautiful white granite! Was thrilled again to have her reach a summit beside me.
Cross-country from Folly. Drury is not a pretty peak, but the views are there. Fourth peak of a loop hike that included Cornell, Miller, San Jacinto, Folly, Jean and Marion.
Hiked Cornell, Miller, San Jacinto, Folly, Drury, Jean and Marion. All are great summits, lots of 3 class and summit blocks. Here are my GPS tracks and photos.
Traversed from Marion Mtn Trail Date Climbed: Jul 5, 2007
Class 1 scramble with almost no brush and easy class 2 summit. From the trail to Little Round Valley, I left the trail at about 10,300 feet and traversed to the saddle between Jean and Drury. 5 minute scramble from there and returned to Little Round Valley.
Take it from the trail at 10,200 Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2007
First attempted it on the Way back from Marion Mountain but got fed up fighting the bushes and returned to the trail junction between San Jacinto and Jean. Took the Marion Mountain trail down to 10200 and cut across. Much easier that way.
Route Climbed: Snow slog from Folly Date Climbed: Mar 27, 2005
Snowshoe loop (with some aid in the form of the tram) to tick off a few of the San Jacinto area HPS peaks with Bob: Cornell, San Jacinto, Folly, Drury, Jean, and Marion. Fun day.
