| From camp in the basin just west of Storm King Peak. Hiked to the Storm King - Peak Eight saddle, dropped down to Lake Silex, climbed to the Peak Nine - Sllex saddle (crampons necessary), then traversed Silex's south slopes and over to The Guardian. Then climbed Silex's south slopes and descended its southwest ridge. | |

| Only mountain summited on a 5 day backpack trip that turned into a rain-fest... but it was the MONSOON, so that was pretty much expected. Beautiful summit, amazing views of the San Juans and so very thankful that we had one day without rain! | |

| Was I beaten down after summitting this peak. No ice axe and crampons left me cussing out the scree and loose boulders. The view from the top was the best I have seen in Colorado so it made it worth the effort. | |
