| The Iron Man race is held every year in the mountains of the Genova province in the coldest period of the year. Only partecipants who arrive alive at the end are the holders of the title "Iron Man" of the year. This year the holder are (in alphabetical order) Angelo, Emanuele, Maurizio, Pietro, Roberto, Ugo. Joking aside, every year, between Christmas and New Year's day, we organize a two-day trek in the Apennines or Alps with a stay in a hut. This year it was 28 and 29 december and incredibly huts are always completely empty while 31 dec are full! On 28 dec we took a coach in the morning from Genova to Torriglia, then with a smaller bus we arrived to Caprile the starting point of our trek. Up to the top of Antola in 2h30' and to the new hut. Dinner, bed and breakfast and on 29 dec we went to Case Picetto, Passo del Colletto, Passo dei Colletti, Donnetta, Buffalora, Mt. Lavagnola and reached Sottocolle where in a pub we waited for our bus to Genova. The second day it took about 7 hours to go to Sottocolle. That's all. | |

| After 2 weeks of heavy snowfall Enrico asked me "I've seen your picture of the Antola hut covered by snow and tomorrow weather is fine, would you join me in a trek there ?". "I agree and would like to start from Caprile" So on 18 Dec three of us Claudio, Enrico and I went there, all equipped with snowshoes. We lost the marked path (too much snow) but arrived at the top after 3h20' while descent we did in only 2h. (Standard timing is 1h30' up and 1h down) At the summit, we met one ski mountaineer (age 65) with ski and saw a footprint of snowshoes, hence at least 2 people arrived there before us. | A huge drop in temperature and the first snow reached the Apennines around Genova. Three of us by car to Torriglia the starting point for our adventure in a white wild wood. The environment was wonderful, ten cm of powder snow and sometimes sun among clouds, fog at the summit only. It was a surprise to me to see many tracks of wild animals and one regret, I could not use my camera, batteries were dead! | |

| It was a beautiful winter day. The snow wasn't yet fallen but at the top the view was really amazing. From Chiappa (900 mt) to the top passing by Cremando mount (Sud ovest ridge). | |

| 17 August 2005. Route Climbed: North Est Ridge ( Capanne di Carrega ) Beautiful day of summer. With my two great friends, Raffaella & Sergio. From Propata ( 1000 mt ) to the top. A long day of trekking, we're tired, but at 15.30 pm we're at top of this beautiful mountain at 1597 mt. 18 November 2007. With different members of Quotazero.Com from Caprile to the top. Beautiful sunny day. 1 hour and 30 minutes to climb Antola. Thanks at all friends of Quotazero My personal dedication of this climb to Stefano Zavka, died in summer of 2007 on K2 expedition. | |
