Woodzy9 Peak Day  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 2, 2009

Climbed the ridge from Kachina all the way to Wheeler. We hit Kachina Peak...An unnamed peak, Lake Fork Peak, "Bighorn Peak",Pt 12,728, Simpson, Old Mike, Wheeler, and then Walter. Started at 7:20am and then finished at 5:30. We started at the Williams Lake Trailhead. Amazing day! The weather somehow cooperated with us the whole time. Very fun traverse. Saw lots of Elk, Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goats. SO MUCH FUN!!

scotthsunice summit

I climb it about ~5-10 times every ski season via Highline Ridge, and have also climbed it 3 times in the off season (via Hunziker Bowl in fall 2003 and Main Street in spring 2003 and spring 2008).

b.Early turns  Sucess!

The resort opened late that year so we hiked up and found moderately pleasant talus turns with minimal bleeding.

Dan the Jonesup and around  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 22, 2007

Started at Bull of the Woods parking area. Hiked up the chutes in the Hunziker Bowl and across the broad ridge to the summit mound. Unseasonably clear skies so we continued on to Lake Fork Peak.

ClydascopeRoute Climbed: The Ridge Date Climbed: Early '80's  Sucess!

Spent three winters in Taos and summitted many times for powder runs. Most of the time I traversed the ridge from the top of the West Basin, but also hiked it from the base of the resort, including a couple full moon runs!

Midlife MountaineerRoute Climbed: Northeast Ridge along ski area boundry Date Climbed: august 25, 2005  Sucess!

Easy hike through the ski area on the maintenance road. I left the road at Hunziker Bowl and started climbing straight up at the ski area boundry. Next time I'll try something a little different. This route was quite steep and had many loose rocks. I made a couple of boulders tumble.
