| One of the best days of my life was the day I summitted Doubletop Peak on a perfect Indian summer day in Oct. 1996. I had a camp down below near the headwaters of West Dell Creek. The weather was beautiful and the views of the Tetons and Winds were second to none. I did not see another soul for the 3 days I was on this backpack. Hiking up the south side of the peak was very fun with interesting limestone formations and sinkholes. I hope to return again someday. I even took a swim in the small lake at the base of the peak, whew, very cold. |
