| Once you get out of the 50 degree angle wooded section, it's all worth it. The trip down is not for those with weak knees...it was actually worse than going up for me. Did the standard route with two friends. No trail anomolies, clear and passable...just wet from rain the night before. Got too low and had to do some easy class 3 cliff work. Saintgrizzly has it right about staying toward the top. While we were on the ridgeline we saw a huge sow grizzly and two cubs down in one of the bowls on the west side...watch out in the trees! | |

| Did it solo. It was steep, but it was very much worth the effort (a great conditioning hike). The final climb on to the summit seems to be deteriorating and may cause problems in the future (currently a nice little scramble). The views were outstanding! | |

| Climbed with Don Stolte and one of his gandyman acquaintances from the railroad. My most vivid memory is of his friend showing up in camos looking like Rambo and carrying a large .45 which must have weighed a ton. He regretted the weight of the gun and the MREs he packed up and back! | |

| One of my favorite climbs to get in shape in the area! It started snowing when we crested the ridge, but conditions were safe so we proceeded onward and upward. Before we knew it we were strapping on the crampons and plunging our axes deep. We were greeted with 4-6 inches of fresh powder down in the valley. | |

| Very awesome hike. Went most the way up and saw a mountain goat that's fur was white as snow. Before we stopped on this sunny day dark clouds rolled in and heard thunder. Don't need special gear just be careful. | |

| My wife and I made it to the top. Steep climb. Saw some mountain goats on the way up. I highly recommend this to anyone trying to avoid the crowds of Glacier. | |

| I now understand why this climb, even in an area dominated by Glacier National Park, is a local favorite. Very, very nice mountain! First half of the trail is quite steep, but the trail is good, and when it levels out--which is about the time of the first view into the southern reaches of GNP--wow! This is definitely a mountain I'll do again! | |

| My brother Mike and I did this tortuous route without knowing there was a trail nearby. We only recommend the route to people who really love suffering. | |
