| Long dayhike out of Crescent Meadow to Lion Rock and Triple Divide. Descended the most prominent chute from the summit on the SW Face, and got cliffed out right at the end--finally found a class 4 chimney to make my way through the cliffs. (There was more class 3 below that to pass another cliff band). I was getting nervous as it was starting to get dark, and swore loudly at Secor when I hit the cliffs--might have been nice if he'd have mentioned them! Route-finding down to Tamarack Lake was tricky in the dark--many small cliffs.
After the long, boring hike to Eagle Scout/Stewart last year, I learned my lesson and took my MP3 player this time. This was a good idea, and made the long approach much more tolerable. |
