A fun 3rd class scramble with some snow to add to the challenge.

Rick KentFrom Shake Camp, NE Approach
Date Climbed: Jun 30, 2006

Attained the north ridge from the NE then traversed south to the summit. Found quite a bit more fun class 3+ scrambling along the way than I expected. I descended differently down a brush filled gully on the east side. Might try a more direct approach next time.

A little fun 3rd and 4th class near the top of Moses, and a lot of not-so-fun brush and viewless forest the rest of the way. Cool summit ridge and nice summit views of the Central Valley fog, though.

1000PksRoute Climbed: From Trail along the Middle Fork of the Tule River Date Climbed: October 22, 1995  Sucess!

Another half of a double peak climb with the Sierra Peaks Section. Hanging clouds in the morning, but cleared up later. Beautiful sunny weather, fine group.

Desert SolitaireRoute Climbed: East slopes Date Climbed: October 1, 2005  Sucess!

An enjoyable dayhike from HIdden falls campground. Be forewarned, study the route very carefully and review the beta in close detail. Its not hard, but I went through the worst brush I've gone through in the Sierra and literally swam through the hellish shrub on more than one instance just because I wanted to take the least circuitous route. It doesn't hurt to hike an extra mile or two to avoid this. Once you hit the bare summit area, it gets into some excellent 3rd class climbing though.

Depart at 9 am, return by 12:45 pm, reason enough for a winning bet with UWJen. Bottoms up!
