Matt HorbalSuccesful ascent on attempt #2  Sucess!

Ascent via the route described here. The first attempt was unsuccessful because I did not cross the bowl on the East side of the mountain and had a few harrowing moments exploring the mentioned loose 5th class climbing before giving up and heading off the mountain. The 2nd attempt was successful.

Watch the wet slides. Climbed the rotten chimney at the little summit block. Didn't seem so little why clinging for my life (likely just broken bones) to the biggest loose rocks I could find. Great ski back to the car. There was a grizzly grazing at Yellowstone lake (both years)

Sam PageSolo in early summer 1993  Sucess!

I remember lots of snow, one very steep and loose scree field, some scrambling toward the top, and a breathtaking view of the tetons.

similar story to Alcas23: climbed route with fellow park employees Jefferis and Torsten as part of a marathon climb of Top Notch, Doane, and Stevenson. Did not make Stevenson because we had to find another route home below the tree line due to hail and lightning.

An awesome climb because of great scrambling, amazing views, and (unlike many GYE peaks) solitude despite incredibly easy access.

Alcas24Route Climbed: East Ridge via North Ridge Date Climbed: June 27, 2005  Sucess!

Climbed route with fellow park employees Jeff W. and James O. as part of a marathon climb of Top Notch, Doane, and Stevenson. Did not make Stevenson due to weather, unfortunately. Top Notch is an easy climb with killer views. Lots of snow when we climbed (late June).
