SkyPilot84Snowshoe Day Trip   Sucess!
Date Climbed: Feb 28, 2009
What better way to spend my birthday than snowshoeing up Echo Peak. Sweet views of Tahoe from the top. We left from the Echo Lakes trailhead.

JonodoFrom Flagpole Peak  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 28, 2009

Climbed this one after Flagpole Peak. The traverse to Echo Peak from Flagpole is easier than it looks. Lots of flat sandy spots. Nice views and finally some cooler temps.

Date Climbed: Jun 26, 2009

The "unofficial" trail from the Triangle lake junction is in better shape than the "official" spur trail from the PCT.

Skeeters are out!
Pics are here.

Amazing weather, great views, and very few people made for a great dayhike from the Echo Lakes approach!

KerstinUp Tamarack Trail to Echo Peak  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 26, 2006

I hiked Echo Peak via the Tamarack Trail with Anita. After hanging around on the summit for a while in perfect weather, we descended Echo Peak's northeast-facing ridge to Upper Angora Lake. We purchased lemonades at Angora Lakes resort, talked with several friendly people, then made our way down the steep trail to Fallen Leaf Lake, lemonades in hand. I remember giggling with Anita, and heard her say, "I feel like I just walked out of a bar!" All in all a perfect, mellow, and very fun day.

I also climbed this peak from Upper Angora Lake in June of 2000, solo.

nikolaia party at the top  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 30, 2006

There were bikini girls at the top handing out beer. The girls were also passing out twenties. More people need to climb this mountain. It's an undiscovered party.

This was one of my grandfathers favourite hikes, and we used to do it all the time when I was young. Usually we'd just head straight uphill from our cabin by the Echo Lakes Channel. Sometimes we'd take other approaches too though. Good times!

Matthew HollimanRoute Climbed: Echo Lakes ridge traverse Date Climbed: Aug 27, 2004  Sucess!

Followed the ridge around Flagpole, this, Ralston, and a couple of other bumps whose names I forget. Mellow and surprisingly enjoyable.

HenneBRoute Climbed: Flagpole Peak Traverse Date Climbed: 11-06-2005  Sucess!

We climbed this out of Echo Lakes via Flagpole Peak. After Echo Peak we continued on to Angora Peak and Kieth's Dome. Cloudy with occasional sun, windy, not too cold. Snow higher up was ancle-deep.
