| Couldn't ask for a better day, sunny with a warm breeze. I wish I would of read this summit log so I would have known to replace the log container on Lowery. The register is slightly damp but seems to be holding up considering the leaky container. As usual, cat tracks were seen. | |

| Ground frozen all the way to the top of Fiske, and even across to Lowery and back before it thawed. Slick stuff on the way down! They did some serious trail clearing to get up the last slopes of Lowery from Fiske. Flat light day, pictures were crummy, but I really like driving up that valley. | |

| Hiked up from the southern Blue Ridge trailhead with my kids on an unseasonably cool day. Wild flowers still dotted the chapparral. We were only the 2nd vehicle to make the trek to the end of the world (road's end) this year. Rough going in a few places - *nearly* mandatory 4wd to get there. Trail had a slight bit of deadfall we did not clear. The summit register container is plastic and has a hole in it . It needs to be replaced. My kids had a great time. Saw some hawks and of course vultures. Found a massive pile of bear shit - so I threw some at them of course! | |
