| I wanted to climb Baker in December, but the roads were bad, so I did it in the summer. I probably should have waited 'til winter, because there was a lot of deadfall and very dense vegetation (especially in the evergreen forests, aspen groves aren't nearly as bad). Still, I made pretty good time. I started at 8:15, reached the summit just before 10, and got back down to Muddy Pass at 11:50. I saw no one else. Beautiful area. | |
