Vid PogachnikRoute Climbed: SE ridge Date Climbed: December 30th, 2005  Sucess!

I did quite many mistakes that day. First, I started late. It was 1:30 p.m. and days are short in December (4:30 it's dark already). Reaching the SW ridge I put on skis, but the track was done through 1m of fresh snow by hikers, not skiers. So turns were narrow and the track went steeply. I soon lost one circle on my ski poles, found it after some 10 minutes, but the pole was useless, going into snow till its holder. On the upper part I followed the track which didn't go straight to the summit. On the bump before the summit I left skis, thinking of returning by the same route. So I needed to pick them in return - another 15 minutes lost. I was sweatening hurrying up, so I was having my glasses on the breast track of my rucksack. When finally reaching the summit, in the last sunrays, I realised that I lost my glasses. Couldn't hope to see anything in darkness, let alone to ski down fast enough. Luckilly I found glasses some 100m below the summit. Finally could prepare for skiing. But as I started, I realised how tired I was, in more than 1m of fresh snow it was quite painful to ski down through woods. But found the right way skillfully and below just shooted a downhill by the forrest road. Next day I also realised that I lost my mobile - probably when I fell a few times into powder snow. Hard to be proud on such a tour, but the evening was beautiful.
