Camp up from Irish Creek. This was quite a work out on my legs especially since this is my first real outing of the season. The legs are still buring now and I'm gonna feel it tomorrow. My legs aren't all that was burned though...I forgot sunscreen.....yeah. Anyways the view of the Boise mountains was great and so was the wildlife. I saw at least 5 elk.
Tried to follow a very fast goat (Sawtoothsean). It is not everyday out in the Boise Mountains, especially on this peak that 2 separate parties 5 people between them all summit this semi-remote peak.
One false summit after another... Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2008
Nick and I climbed the south ridge on a warm June day. I’ve never been so frustrated by false summits. Still a good outing with 20+ different types of wildflowers seen along the way, and great views. Nice to finally get the “grand slam” finished off. Here’s a trip-report and some photos.
Route Climbed: South Ridge Date Climbed: 3/31/2001
The start of the south route is very steep and since I usually do it in the spring when I am coming out of hibernation, it is a lung burner. Very neat peak and a excellent workout.
Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: February 28, 1998
Steep scramble through deep snow. Fell through a frozen creek and almost became hypothermic. Ironic considering this peak is 5 miles from my house and I've been on many other peaks like Rainer, McKinley, Garnd Teton etc. with no problems.
