GroundswellWinter is best

many trips through the years. Winter is always best. Most memorable was El Nino winter of 94/95? my buddy and I were at parking lot with 2 fellows from San Diego in full mountaineering getup. they ran up in crampons but we caught up in our snow shoes. later at Halfway, they pulled out brand new Bibler tent while we dug a hole. They asked to take pictures inside our warm cave. thought that was rather funny. summited next day.

WoodzyGreat Hike

Incredible elevation gain the first 1.2 miles! Didn't summit, but the trail was real nice. Plenty of snow along the trail and ice in the morning.

Memo to self: Do not attempt to hike the last 1500 ft elevation at max exertion. Ended up with a pounding headache and no desire to eat!

SkydiveKenEnd of Nine Peaks  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 28, 2004

Used this trail to get back to the car after hiking the nine peaks ending at San G. Remember it being a very steep descent. Maybe it was just the full overnight packs.

Our team of three made it about a mile before High Creek when Jeff's hip flexer couldn't take the pain any longer. We're hoping to go back to summit in a few weeks.

Date Climbed: Jan 20, 2008

Hiked with (behind) Rick Kent and MikeSash. Summit was sunny but very cold and windy. Nobody spent much time there, including myself. But I was alone on top of S CA for 11 minutes.
