"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Windy! The wind on the summit of Lion Head was probably in the 80-90 mph range, so I bailed on my Mt. Washington attempt. I literally could not walk forward in the incredibly strong and steady wind. The twelve people who started up before me that day all turned around.

Didn't care for this routeAscended via Tuckerman, decided to come down Lion Head thinking it might be a little easier. I didn't think it was. Of course, I was in 60-80 mph winds, but if I had to do it over again, I would absolutely have descended via Tucks again. I didn't really see a big difference b/w the two routes.

Much Easier than Tucks & HuntingtonStill a nice hike, not too sure why they put stairs on one section.

Lion Head Winter RouteThird winter ascent of Washington on this route. Windy and -20 to -30F wind chill. Not the best conditions but not the worst I have ascended in.

winter route from pinkhamWindy at first but overall a fine day, not much below freezing with a coating of firm fresh snow. Crampons were helpful but not strictly necessary - a few people bare-booted it, others used ice axes and actually roped up, you meet all kinds of people on this mountain.
I got the chance to meet "Monroe" on Lion's Head.
