Mountain ImpulseDeep Snow in Couloir  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2009

The couloir was covered with postholing type of snow, but the day was sunny with a brisk air temp and the climb was enjoyable. The ridge to the summit was mixed rock and snow so slippery going with boots. Most of the top was covered with fresh snow. We managed to dig the register box out of the snow cover.

96avs01Forced Retreat
Date Climbed: May 27, 2008

Climbed to the top of the couloir only to be met with heavy snow and 60+ mph winds. Descended and camped at Treasure Lakes only to find substantial new snow at the top of the couloir the following morning. Too high avy risk for our taste, would return a few days later to complete the route, which contained evidence of recent avy releases.

yaknjorglbuddy puked on summit  Sucess!

tried this in winter, but crampons wouldn't fit borrowed boots- doh! neve conditions were perfect, my buddy hurled on the summit and just kind of tumbled down the softened north side in the afternoon.

DebHourglass Couloir  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 13, 2005

Solo daytrip total success. Not enough snow in couloir to satisfy my itch but the class 3 sections and view were totally worth the slog section. Windy and warm until the clouds rolled in and chased me out with pelting hail.
