PivvayFun on Leia!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 17, 2009

Soloed up Skywalker and the Leia finish this morning. 1:20 for the couloir. A few short melted out sections and a mixed step near the very top but still awesome. 4:30 RT with summit candy break and a bunch of pictures of all the awesome wildflowers on the way down.

A little wind kept the snow firm, was a cruiser of a climb. Fun steeps in the middle exit. With Eric, MikeyB, Kris.

Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2008

My first snow climb on a spectacular day. Took my time and learned from others as I went. Exited to the right near the top, no less difficult just more rocks to sit and rest. The wind gusts actually helped push me up this climb. Awesome views.

Great conditions for an awsome climb. Exited straight out the top, pushing past 55 degrees. Climbed with Tim, Mike, and Kris. The traverse over to N. Arapaho was good fun.

Hot and slushy climb. Won't be long before lots of rock exposed. Got nailed a couple of times with ice fall. Nothing to rant about. IMHO Flattop's routes are more interesting.

Climbed Skywalker with Mike, Marella, and CharlesD. Hit the base of the climb about 6:30am. Snow was rock hard and solid. Sunlight on the Princess Leia finish made it absolutely perfect. The cornice that was mentioned on 18-Jun-06 (in hindsight, I think this cornice was mentioned on some other website) is now gone but the schrund at the base of the Leia section is starting to open up quite a bit. Still passable, but not for much longer. Definately evidence of rockfall, and a couple whizzed by. Wear a helmet on this one.

Awesome climb, awesome day.
