| I counted around 30 people in the Dead Dog Couloir during the morning. Some were training for Mt Rainier, not climbing Torreys. We left Golden around 3 am and were on the trail before the stars disappeared. Temperature was around freezing and the snow was soft in places. We reached the base of the couloir about 5:50, summited at 7:40 -- we took our time but were still one of the fastest parties that day. Almost constant, tiny rockfall until we reached the upper 500' of the couloir. Spent quite awhile on the summit, then descended to the saddle and slid down about 1400’ in 10 minutes or so. We lost the trail on the way back to the trailhead, and spent a lot of time thrashing through the willows and postholing through deep snow. :-( No snowshoes. | |

| Summited Torreys via the Dead Dog in a full blizzard with a snowboard strapped to my back, very physically demanding but otherwise a great snow climb. | |

| This was the second attempt with Haliku. The first try was thwarted off by stupidity mixed with poor road conditions (high centered the truck in snow). This trip was much better and the day was beautiful. There was a bit of rock fall, which provided some additional entertainment on the way up. | |

| I had Torreys all to myself. A quick day...Torreys and Grays in less than 5 hours, but still a good time. Dead Dog was a lot less steep than I thought it would be. Felt like 35 degrees most of the time, then 45 degrees in a few spots. | |

| It's a great climb, couldn't have asked for better conditions. I'm going to echo Skasgaard & Gareth, I was expecting it to be a little steeper also. | |

| Climbed with rkymtn. We left the truck before 5 am (from 15 minutes below the TH) and were at the couloir base by 7. We topped out two hours later. Conditions were soft snow with rock fall, some of it too close. We headed to Grays before heading down before any afternoon storms. | |

| Great Conditions!! Cold morning made the snow firm and easy for climbing. I was prepared for a hard climb, but was actually quite easy. Had fun, and the slide down is always a blast. Happy Climbing | |
