| Dan and I slept at the trailhead/end of road, having driven across from our climb of Kings Peak in Utah the previous day. Started early to beat the heat, which (in early July) came on pretty fast! Sorry we didn't see and wild ponies. | |

| It's a good route with the elevation gain not too strenuous. But boy, coming back from the main saddle--this part coming back seems to take forever. | |
