| did this hike with squishy to train for Brewer in SEKI. the trail(head) is less than 50 ft east from where the canyon hits HWY 50. there's a big downed tree (3 ft in diameter or so) which the trail runs past, quite close to the road. there is no trail with a snowpack. | |

| Awesome hike, the trail was well worn and easy to follow. Cairns mark the entire trail to the summit block and a hub cap was placed at the trail head (don't know how long that will last). The last stretch to the summit was a boulder field, but the majority of the trail is dusty and free of rocks and climbing. | |

| This is about the most direct route to the summit. Fairly agressive day hike, too. | |
