haishanwet crack  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 22, 2002

Snowstorm a couple days earlier left the crack on pitches 1 & 3 cold and dripping wet. I remember chalking hands and wiping shoes on my pant legs after every sequence... I was sketched. Warmth & sunshine on upper pitches made this one of the most enjoyable climbs I've done.

I loved this climb, and thought the third pitch was the best pitch ever.

FortMentalGo late!  Sucess!

Perhaps the most fun I ever had on rock! Go late and plan on bivying on the upper ledges. See the sun rise on the summit, no people...anywhere! Sublime!

We were lucky to be second party in line. This is very popular route. It gets easier considerably after the 1st pitch, but still a very nice route on a very prominent dome.

climb with Kris and Misha. 6.5 hrs not bad for a team of three. Linked P1 and P2 with 60 m rope.

Climbed with Pavel and Kris on a beautiful afternoon. Wildfire smoke from the previous day got thinner which revealed incredible views and, to our amazement, we were the only party on the route. Started at noon and topped out at 6:30pm; just enough to get mexican dinner in Groveland on the way home. Great clean climbing and with lots of memorable places. First pitch crux challenged me a bit (my first real weekend in the mountains this season). Will do again!

If it weren't for Nick leading the first 2 pitches I would of never of been able to climb this one. That 2nd pitch kicked my butt! We toped out right at sunset.

Great route, super classic. Traded leads every pitch. Did it back in 98.

Date Climbed: Aug 11, 2007

This is what perfect climbing days are like. Good rock, great climbing, and the best partner. Climbed with UWJennie. A crowded Saturday morning. Counted 5 parties by the time we were on the 5th pitch. Bring warm clothes and a wind layer because you'll probably need it most of the climb, especially if you start early in the morning.

Climbed with Liz. We showed up at 11 and waited for another team to get a couple of pitches up before we started. The climbing was fun, although not great (We had done Higher Cathedral Spire the day before). I made a couple of route finding errors (surprise) that cost us some time. Soloed the last four pitches. Great views, easy walk off. Can't wait to try Lucky Steaks.

Erik & I cruised this in a few hours, yet we were smoked on the route by Cedar Wright who soloed past us, music cranking out of a speaker clipped to his chalk bag!

Date Climbed: Aug 30, 2002

I lead every pitch but one with my friend Ed Lupyak. I made the mistake of linking two pitches midway up and suffered tremendous rope drag, ran it out, and barely made the belay ledge. I also climbed this route in 1994.

An amazing climb with Aidan Haley...couldn't of done it without him! We had an "alpine 5.6" rack, and only he had the courage to lead pitch one with it. Masterfully done...despite seeping, greasy rock in the crux!
