A scenic treat while visiting from the mountain-less east coast. Thunderclouds forming persuaded me not to head north to Dragon. Tagged the top of the summit "thumb", never saw a register. Nearly 1,000' of scree skiing down to the Kearsarge Pass trail was fast and fun.
...not particularly memorable from a climbing standpoint. Good views, nonetheless, and the endless scree-glissade back down to the pass was the funnest part. If you're going no further than Kearsarge Pass, then this is worth going to the top of.
Backpacking with 3 others. Side trip to solo. Hiked to the 3 false summits before reaching the correct one. Signed the register, but did not climb on the summit block.
Very windy conditions with clouds moving in. Besides the class 3/4 climbing up to summit block, this solo trip was a slog. Beautiful view toward Rae Lakes from Kearsarge Pass, worth the trip in itself.
