followed requiem and Kate, I drove up for the day just to climb this route because it was so talked about in camp. I loved it, and want to lead it next time. I returned to the valley floor where my girl was waiting for me, we spent the rest of the afternoon at our secret spot with a nice bottle of cab...
trailing Kate and squishy behind. led the whole thing, which was a blast! ran out of long slings near the top of the second pitch and clipped the piton anyway for bad rope drag - what an arm workout that was! gah.
Numerous ascents with Paul, Seth, Girish, Lisa, Kimberly, Stefan, and probably others. As a passing soloist described it, "Super Cruiser". A great valley warmup route.
It started pooring rain after my partner finished the last pitch and got anchored in, so I got a taste of water climbing! There was enough of an overhanging to the left for one foot and hand to grab relatively dry rock for parts of the way up, but it was definitely an adventure and lucky for us the rain didn't set in sooner.
We figured out why the name Date Climbed: Sep 21, 1993
Met Richard via Camp 4 bulletin board. We used this climb to get to know each other prior to doing Snake Dike the next day. Good views of Lost Arrow & Half Dome. Mungey in places but OK. Easy.
It was worth to wait at the bottom for the rest of the parties behind us to start. I set up the first belay on the left hand of the two oaks where the team ahead us did it. We did the route in two pitches. The last one was great.
