| Although our start from Avalanche Lake was delayed by morning rain, we had an uneventful ascent, only getting held up at one point (about 20 mins before reaching the keyhole)due to questioning our crux move ( because it is said: "if you think you need to rope up you're probably off course"). We had some rain and clouds close in on the way down making it a slick descent. We were REALLY glad to have an 8 mm Static rope to rappel some of the steeper sections in these conditions. Encountered no other parties our 3 days there and really relished the ability to take our time instead of making it a 2 day event(we hiked-in day 1, summmit day 2, hiked-out day 3). |
