HIGH EXPEDITIONSRoute Climbed: East Ridge - Winter.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Feb 12, 2003

Kelly and I started hiking up on compacted snow. The day was cloudy and windless.

Kelly got AMS just 20 minutes below the summit. So she started heading down while I ran up to the summit. Spent two minutes at the top, and I headed back to catch up with Kelly 5 minutes later.

MtnLdrWindy and Cold redux  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Mar 5, 2008

The day started off beautifully. No wind and mild temps. quickly dissolved into high winds, snow, and bone chilling cold. My Brother and I were accompanied by the "Quandray Dog." A little yellow lab mix that had alot more spunk than my Brother or I could ever muster in such crappy conditions. He was a little annoying at times, but overall kept the moral level high enough to trudge to the top!

1:20 a.m. wake-up call = way too early
12 falls on slippery ice = sore rear-end
1 bent aluminum treking pole - easily fixed

Being 1st to sign the summit registry = priceless

Tried to get two of my friends from Nashville up and the altitude got them before they could get to the top. Thank you Gore for the best garments in the outdoors! 80 mile an hour winds with a -15 degree windchill and colder at times, Gore-Tex rocks! So does Merino wool! Great easy winter ascent though. Give her a shot.

Poor ClimberNice hike  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 15, 2006

It was a nice hike. Pretty day, with some late thunderstoms. But I manage to get down before the storms came in. But the endless scree, and a herniated disc made things a bit more difficult.
