| one of my favorites in Josh. Cryptic is my wifes all time favorite. I like to climb it just as the sun is setting. Awesome views. Also fun to climb at night without lights. | |

| Second 2 sport routes by headlamp. Flew in to Palm springs and drove to Josh. Met up with the "Mayor" Todd Gordon and climbed 2 routes with him and the Hummerchine. Sat on top and chilled out. Was fun. | |

| On our first trip to J Tree in 1980, Miguel Carmona and I climbed the (later chopped) A1 bolt ladder on the Headstone Rock facing the access road. The bolt ladder was put up in the early 1960s, way before J Tree was on anyone's radar and I guess, some people just could not leave things as they were and chopped the bolts in the late 80s only to drill new ones protecting their 5.13 free masterpiece. In the early days, there were several of these bolt ladders in J Tree, a good aid practice. | |

| Climbed the Corner 5.6 and Cryptic 5.8 many times. Super fun routes that we hit everytime we go to J-Tree. We usually camp in Ryan Campground and do the corner in the moonlight around 11pm. Super fun a night! | |

| Did all three routes on this classic stone. The top offers lovely views of the surrounding rock formations. Careful on the 5.6 corner though, if you don't make the first bolt you'll take a pretty nasty drop into the rocks below! | |
