| While my father and I were lucky enough to find another group of hikers heading up to the point who had someone who had been there before, it would be quite easy enough to find the start. From the High Sierra Camp sign, head around the big rock (46 paces or so) and head up. There is an obvious route through the rocks, then you come upon a use trail that will lead you to the trail.
Only a few spots where the trail gets tough to follow. One while going up. You come to a spot where a use trail does go straight, but your route is up to the left. It is a scramble up rocks though. Then coming down, you can see the trail going straight and left. The old trail would go straight, but dissapears in a rockfall area. Just follow the other trail down and you'll join in.
For best views, I'd reccommend scrambling up 10 feet above the point. |
