| This was the first portion of the route up and over Bighorn en-route to Lone. It made for a great mixed rock/consolidated snow climb up on class 3 terrain. I ended up moving slightly north off the ridge about halfway up, due to wearing crampons and traversing steep snow at that point. About 75 vertical feet beneath the summit the snow prevailed on the ridge, making for a great final snow portion up to the summit. This route and the west route are highly recommended for those comfortable with class 3 and 4 terrain. |
