| I, along with a friend, Scott and his son Garrison, made it to the top of Twin Rocks Mountain today. It turned out to be a 4 1/2 hour hike round-trip from the Post Oak Lake parking lot. Following the creek, we missed the turn off to Twin Rocks Canyon, didn't see the cairn until on the return trip. We hiked north and west up the ridge that parallels TRM on the north. Once we got high enough I soon realized that we had passed TRM. We then proceeded back southward and made our route to the top generally up the NNE face of TRM. The view from the top was awesome. It was a perfect day for this hike. We returned to the parking lot via the south route. We even added to, and tried to improve the cairns while returning. |
