| friday | From Notch, to summit, back to notch Date Climbed: May 24, 2008 | |
| Started out at 7AM, with fog clearly visible below the tree line. There was plenty of snow on the trail to Mt Peirce, making the first 2-3 miles somewhat difficult. Initially at tree line, the was plenty of fog and wind. Around the time I arrive at Mt. Eisenhower, the fog started to lift, but clouds still covered Mt Washington. After I reached the Lake of the Clouds hut, the clouds were now higher than Mt Washington, giving me my first naked view of the summit. Reached summit, ate clam chowder, went down and up Mt Monroe, and the took the long trek back to the car. Very long day, but I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. | |

| did part of A presidential traverse on this trail. From crawford notch up to to summit, and back the same route. Great trip, good weather all the way except for a socked-in summit. | ||

| Second time summiting this one. Was the fifth in a south to north Presidential Traverse. Spent the night at LOTC Hut, hiked up in morning fog, no visibility but at least winds were normal, maybe only 30 mph. Lots of smoking Japanese tourists up top and the nice smell of the cog. Didn't waste much time at the summit, headed down Trinity Heights Connector to Gulfside Trail to rendez-vous with Flanders to continue our Traverse. | |

| Here I am breaking my rule of not logging routes that were just hikes but this was just so damn alpine and such a respectable mountain. Next time by something technical! | |
