| Started out at 7AM, with fog clearly visible below the tree line. There was plenty of snow on the trail to Mt Peirce, making the first 2-3 miles somewhat difficult. Initially at tree line, the was plenty of fog and wind. Around the time I arrive at Mt. Eisenhower, the fog started to lift, but clouds still covered Mt Washington. After I reached the Lake of the Clouds hut, the clouds were now higher than Mt Washington, giving me my first naked view of the summit. Reached summit, ate clam chowder, went down and up Mt Monroe, and the took the long trek back to the car. Very long day, but I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. |
