| I've done the standard route about ten times, once in reverse and twice on what was called Cassie's Beatout, which goes up to lake Hardy, climbs South Thunder, foolows the ridge east, and then down Red Pine. | ||

| My Uncle Alan and my Dad took me on this one while still in junior high. We took full packs, camped at Red Pine Lake. The following day we went up over Pfeifferhorn, the Lightning Ridge, and descended to the Upper Bells Reservior. Good thing we got to the reservior when we did, as we were out of water. Descended down Bell Canyon the following day. I must say that a full moon really lights up the granite walls during night. | ||

| I did this along with the Bullion. The Beatout part was done mostly in the dark so I did not see the great views. I also ran up Lone peak while I was there. Next in the winter and not by myself. | ||

| The lightning ridge was really fun and we did some pretty crazy scrambling as a "shortcut." Bell's was a long ways to come down though. | ||

| This has been on my list for a while. I’ve always wanted to combine the Bullion Divide and Beatout Hike in one day. I had done parts of the ridge so I was familiar with the terrain. My friend dropped me off at Albion Basin early in the morning. It started raining when I arrived at the summit of White Baldy but an hour later it was nice and sunny again. The part of the ridge located west of the Pfiefferhorn was very scenic. The hike down Bells Canyon was tiring since it was a hot day. I made it back to the trailhead in the dark. A long and rewarding ridge traverse! | ||

| What an outstanding trip! I did this one the first time by myself. The ridge was straigtforward and absolutely beautiful. At on point I moved too far out to the south and had to 5.5 my way up hundreds of feet back up to the ridge. Then came the fun part. Instead of going over into Bell's, I followed a cairn trail (because my guide told me to follow the cairn trail to Upper Bell's) to the South ending up in the town of Alpine. The hike was amazing and hitchhking back to Salt Lake was a lovely experience. Lessons learned? Never trust cairn trails from year to year and people in Alpine are not likely to pick you up even if you appear to be an inoccent, if slightly ragged and insane looking hiker. | ||

| We did the route at a brisk walk sunrise to sunset. A lot of deadfall and debris in Bells. Would love to do it on skis someday. | ||

| I have had the priviledge of doing this classic Wasatch Mountain Club ridge run many times over a thirty year period. I think the first time was 1975 or 1976 and I remember that I wore a borrowed climbing helmet! | ||

| Harold Goodro lead this trip for the Wasatch Mountain Club. Our biggest problem was crossing the swollen stream in White Pine (no bridge) and dealing with the crossings in Bells - Lightning Ridge was spectacular! | ||
