jwproulxDawson's approach is better.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 15, 2008

This route saw lots of skiers on Sunday, 5/15/08.

I've been up the approach through the lower basin, a slightly unpleasant bushwhack. This time I used the approach in Dawson's guide. I found no trail, but rather 500 feet of solid talus:

Follow the trail to the first large break in the trees, at the end of a marshy area. Climb about 500' vertical to the East on solid talus slopes and countour around the ridge on a bench right at treeline to gain the valley. Follow the bench or descend into the valley (maybe 200' vertical) to the base of the N. Face. If you follow the bench, you'll still have to drop a bit to get around a rib to the N. Face proper.

If you do this when there's decent snow on the face, the valley approach will probably also be snowy, so it should be easy going.

Oh, yeah -- the skiing was fantastic!
